“The training that we are beginning today will enable target beneficiaries to meet the minimum technical and business requirements for becoming mobile money agents. Additionally, this training will enhance their entrepreneurial competencies, which will allow them to successfully start and manage mobile money businesses.

“Once the training is finished, the target beneficiaries will be registered as Mobile Money Agents with the Shared Agency Network Expansion Facility (SANEF), and they will be given Start-up Kits that include a Point-of-Sale (POS) Machine, Fingerprint Scanner, and Furniture (chairs, tables, and umbrellas), in addition to a modest capital of N20,000.00.”

The Minister also took the time to express gratitude to Shared Agent Network Expansion Facilities (SANEF) for their participation in the program and the significant contributions they have made.

“Upon completion of the training, this will make it possible for target beneficiaries to be registered and onboarded. The support of other stakeholders and the contributions they have made toward the realization of Mr. President’s vision to lift Nigerians out of poverty are also very much appreciated by our organization.

“We hope that it will also enhance the integration of NSIP by enabling target beneficiaries to join the network of agents providing financial-related services under other components of NSIP, particularly the conditional cash transfer and the grant for vulnerable groups, as well as in the enumeration and enrollment of target beneficiaries.” “We hope that it will also enhance the integration of NSIP by enabling target beneficiaries to join the network of agents providing financial-related services under other components of NSIP.”

After that, the minister made a symbolic presentation of point-of-sale machines, umbrellas, fingerprint scanners, furniture, and a starting capital of twenty thousand Naira to some of the recipients of the assistance.

Mrs. Ronke Kuye, Chief Executive Officer of SANEF Limited, sent a message of goodwill to the Minister in which she thanked him for the partnership and mentioned that some of the primary goals of SANEF include increasing the number of agents, engaging stakeholders, and increasing financial literacy and awareness. This partnership with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development will act as a powerful elixir to further deepen and expand Financial Inclusion through Agent Banking to the underserved and unserved, as well as the last mile distribution to hinterlands that have not been reached hitherto.

It is imperative that we play our part in ensuring that participants in this program receive Financial Literacy Training and Awareness prior to being on-boarded as Agents. Doing so will enable participants to gain an understanding of the fundamentals and workings of the system in which they are about to play a pivotal role.

“We are proud to be a part of this, as such remarkable partnerships are resonating as major positives in the effort to bring greater development to our communities, and we are excited to be a part of this,”

It is anticipated that the program will provide employment opportunities for 1,850 young people who will be selected from each of the 36 states and the FCT. Additionally, the program will promote financial inclusion by providing financial services to Nigerians who have not previously had access to such services.

The Mobile Money Agents Program was initiated in the year 2020 with the goal of maintaining the social inclusion agenda that President Buhari’s administration has set forth. This is in line with the President’s vision of lifting one hundred million Nigerians out of poverty within the next ten years. There were a number of dignitaries present, including the National Coordinator of the National Social Investment Programmes, Dr. Umar Bindir, the National Coordinator of Conditional Cash Transfers, Mrs. Chinwendu Amba, and the NSIP Focal Person for the Federal Capital Territory, Mrs. Chinwendu Amba.
